George, buddy: I know Jesus. MLK is not Jesus.

George, Jesus wasn't the only dude to heal the sick and raise the dead, but MLK was not the only one to preach against injustice and bigotry. It's like, Christians are not the only ones who can pray in tongues (buddhists do, hindu's do), but we believe by faith we are doing it on the highest authority and purity.

To take your point further, while a lot of people would agree with your statement/encouragement to "be Christ today", I think few would be able to say "how are we being Martin Luther King today", simply because MLK was a man (righteous though he was) and not God.

How are we being Christ or Christ-like? by healing the sick, raising the dead and preaching against injustice. Some of us are, unfortunately, occasionally at best.

jesus wasn't the only one who healed the sick, cast out demons or the things you shared. he was one of many, historically speaking. and so, if that's the case, then jesus simply shows us who we are all meant to be, in that regard MLKJ was in a long line of people like jesus. i think rather than differentiating him, us or anyone from christ, maybe a better question is how are we being christ, and yes, in every single way?

One more thing....

MLK and Jesus had different missions, bro. One came to bring the kingdom through healing the sick and casting out demons, one came to heal people's ignorance and fight the system.

But I am loving this talk on TED about creativity, it is redemptive.
