there has been a lot of press lately on the current events that initially began in new york city, and now in vancouver and london among others. something is happening, let's not mince words here or dismiss this as some fad-like movement that will disappear as some historical uprising from the locals, but rather something is occurring to society from the inside out. it's change, but rather than change under the guise of change, people are starting to pull the curtains back and finding not that some burnt-out wizard with his gadgets is waiting to be found, but rather that there is no wizard.
that the wizard died long ago and now we are left with a system that has survived so long that it now thinks for itself and has become entrenched in a human way of thinking. be rest assured, occupy wall street is just getting started. and they are right, rome wasnt built in day, but it can be razed in an hour. this is the healing power behind this peculiar event. I would like to my fellow activists while they sit, lie, scream and picket their way to social transformation.
to my fellow insurrections here are a few admonishments.
dont become the very thing you despise: capitalism is know by its power to consume and to manifest desires that are not true of you and I. turn your television on and watch a commercial and you will see what I mean. do not become the commercial. do not keep buying the very things that capitalism represents. dont become the symbol, fight the symbols. become the anti-symbol. do not let your desire for the removal of the terrorism of capitalist ideology be the very thing that drives you deeper into it. rather learn from capitalism, you too must become invisible and unassumable without being assimilated into the system itself.
remain peculiar: one capitalist credo that has seemed to rush into our 'way of life' philosophy is the one predicated on the perverse notion of 'one size fits all'. this isn't true. do not become a factory-made lemming. break the rules. keep breaking them. believe for yourself, and believe that capitalism thrives on crisis, because in it, it will discover methods to rebuild itself under the guise of an idealistic other that promotes the illusion of the well-being of the whole. do not replicate the system, eradicate it. separate your identity from capitalist ideology, dont embrace an iota of it, for once you do, your humanity will become mechanized. don't reproduce, but rather deduce another way. become alien to the church of capitalism.
capitalist savior: remember, capitalism promises to save you, how? by dying for you. by rebuilding itself and becoming invisibly entrenched in a different form? is this not the initial promise of god becoming flesh, god who then remains god in a different form but is still god altogether?* and lets be honest, capitalism has become omniscient, omnipresent, sovereign and projects itself to be eternal. the only way is to become the anti-savior. we need to become anti-christs to this system that is killing us.
the danger is to think we are out of the clear here, this is the very thing capitalism desires for us. the lie of capitalism is that 'everything is okay' and we can go on living life as normal. normalcy is for those who are religious adherents to the status quo, those who own a lot but have lost their souls. we must be willing to muffle the voices we have been listening to for so long, and this includes the media, those who present news from a specific angle and pay lip service to those who line their wallets. the fight has just begun.
revolution has never happened at an easy time, neither did it occur when people were prepared for it. it arrives in an organic sense and remains until change occurs. for those who are chastising the movement as going nowhere or having no direction, i think this is a misrepresentation of those who are holding out for that something invisible to arrive. for the incarnation to appear. this, for me, is the most hopeful stance to take in light of the current status of society, because if we lose capitalism we lose our current reference for society as we know it, including all that have come to know as reality itself (i.e., status, identity, power, distinction, caste systems, money as the only source of valuable gift, and etc.).
truth can be found but only in the aftermath of capitalism. until the death of such a system, we will continually perpetuate the lies that everything is okay...we don't hope, not as some valuable object that justifies the presence of the beast of capitalism. we need insurrection as a form of hope and to believe and that in the wake of this perversion, something better can and will arrive. hold onto that as hope, not as currency, not as progression, but as something that can and will occur.
